As reported by CCTV, the scene of autonomous minibuses carrying passengers in Suzhou Industrial Park has attracted much attention — the buses automatically assess road conditions, stop at stations along fixed routes, and operate smoothly even during peak hours. Currently, four autonomous bus routes have been opened in the park, covering commuting, schooling, shopping, and other scenarios — a clear sign that autonomous driving is accelerating its shift from laboratories to people’s daily lives. The vehicles used on these routes are the Higer Qingyuan L4 autonomous buses developed by Higer Bus.

Smart connectivity has been Higer’s core strategic direction. Since 2010, the company has launched the G-BOS vehicle networking system, pioneering the application of commercial vehicle networking. Starting in 2014, it has fully carried out research on drive-by-wire chassis and continuously tackled key autonomous driving technologies. Over the years, the company has mastered core technologies, including independently developed drive-by-wire chassis and algorithms, and obtained over 70 patents related to intelligent buses, 12 of which are invention patents.

At the end of 2023, four central ministries and commissions, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly issued a document officially allowing L3 and L4 vehicles to conduct road pilot operations in designated areas at the national level — pushing autonomous driving from the testing phase to commercial application. Benefiting from this policy, Higer has seen a comprehensive acceleration in its autonomous driving deployment.

Higer has built a complete product system covering autonomous buses, unmanned sanitation vehicles, and unmanned logistics vehicles. Its L4 mass-produced autonomous buses are equipped with seven core technologies, including an independently developed chassis drive-by-wire system. These vehicles have achieved demonstration and commercial operation in many provinces and cities, such as Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu, with a cumulative commercial operation mileage exceeding one million kilometers and hundreds of thousands of passengers served. In 2025, a batch of L4 autonomous buses was delivered to Linping District, Hangzhou, advancing its autonomous driving technology into a broader market.

Currently, the commercial vehicle autonomous driving industry is facing unprecedented development opportunities, as the cost of core components such as lidar continues to drop. It is predicted that China’s unmanned delivery vehicle sales will exceed 100,000 units in 2026 and 320,000 units in 2028. Facing this trillion-level market, Higer is fully prepared.

In the future, Higer will continue to deepen its core smart connectivity technologies, cooperate with industrial chain partners, and build a safe, convenient, efficient, and green sustainable transportation system — contributing even more "Higer Power" to China’s smart city construction and the country’s transportation power strategy.
