The seventeenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) was recently held in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. As the official transport service provider designated by the Ulaanbaatar Public Transport Policy Bureau, Yutong deployed 110 buses to provide shuttle services for conference delegates throughout the event.

Thorough Pre-event Preparations Leverage Local Service Strengths

The conference brought together leaders, media professionals, and industry representatives from 197 countries. To ensure seamless transport services, Yutong began preparations one month in advance and established a dedicated service team comprising on-site staff, local personnel, and suppliers.

Prior to the conference, the team conducted simulation drills based on actual operating routes to identify and mitigate potential operational risks. Spare parts, maintenance tools, and other service resources were stocked in line with local operating conditions, while vehicle dispatch and emergency response plans were refined to ensure stable and efficient transport services throughout the event. With its service team deeply integrated into the local operational ecosystem, Yutong delivered solid support through robust localized service capabilities.

Driving Green Transport for a Sustainable Future

Both desertification control and the transition to green transport are vital components of sustainable development. Since establishing its new-energy R&D team in 1997, Yutong has been continuously developing and promoting new-energy bus technologies to accelerate the shift of public transport toward clean energy. By the end of 2025, Yutong had deployed over 210,000 new-energy buses worldwide, serving public transport systems in numerous countries and regions.

Beyond vehicle manufacturing, Yutong’s green initiatives also extend to ecological restoration. Launched in 2024, the "One Bus, One Tree" Zero-Carbon Forest Program pledges to plant one tree for every Yutong bus delivered globally. By the end of 2025, the program had been implemented in multiple countries, including China, Chile, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, with a total of 83,700 trees planted. Among these, 66,900 Haloxylon ammodendron (saxaul) trees planted in Minqin, Gansu, China, have achieved a survival rate of 90%, covering approximately 700,000 square meters of desert land and contributing significantly to local ecological restoration.
